Security Control Passport Verification

This was an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience with the Security Control Office. We had to visit this office four times for my wife's passport verification, all because of the irresponsible handling by the officer in charge, Mr. Bhutia from Netaji Nagar Police Station. Despite clearly informing him about the urgency, we were given false assurance that the passport would be processed within two weeks. In reality, the file was not processed at all at first time. On our second visit, we were told the file was rejected first time, which was clearly an excuse since no action had been taken in the first place. When the process was finally initiated, incorrect data was entered, causing further delay. We waited more than a week, visited again, identified the mistake ourselves, and only then was it corrected. Even after being told "it's done," nothing moved for another two weeks and the status remained unchanged. Only on the fourth visit was the file actually processed properly. After that, my wife received her passport within a week, which clearly shows the earlier delays were completely avoidable. Because of such negligence and lack of accountability, ordinary citizens are unnecessarily harassed. The system must take strict action against such irresponsible behavior, especially when it involves critical documents like passports. This kind of conduct seriously erodes public trust.

I went for police verification for my wife and Mother on 22.11.2025. They work here on Saturdays also. Although the notice board mentions "Visiting Hour Monday to Friday 12 noon to 2 Pm" but I think its only to con some people and avoid unnecessary rush on weekend. Concerned officer Mr. Bhutia who's in charge of Verification of cases from Netajinagar P.S arrived by 2 pm and we got our verification done by 3 pm. He was very courteous and helpful and checked all the documents very carefully. The location is very good and the ambience is also very peaceful.

We are a 3rd world country and will remain so for an unforseable future. That should give clear idea of my experience with the officers at this place. No due process of meeting officers, everything is random and mood based. There is no token system and the closed room has notice of No admission for aggrieved people. There is no small window to talk to anyone and ask for help. If any officer feels like coming out of the room, they come out, pick anyone among the gathered crowd and vanishes. Even though the meeting time is 12 noon to 2 pm, people were waiting from 10 am in the morning and yet unheard or clarified of doubts and issues unresolved. Everyone begging to any person coming out of the room just to be heard of. I felt so angry and depressed that what the heck we will do by becoming 4th or 3rd biggest economy when even the basic courtesy is missing. No accountability, no empathy, nothing. I think that's why most tax paying citizens want to leave this country because of the harrassment faced at each stage of our life to make sure that it's pathetic, miserable life. I too wish the same now but alas cannot get my passport as the Government is fearful of losing a Tax paying, General category, law abiding citizen. Important hours of daily life is just wasted in this country. No respect at all.

I received excellent and speedy response from Mr. Bhutia, he was diligent yet extremely polite and helpful. May our country be blessed with more such government officials!

It has been a month since I submitted my documents at the Security Control for the purpose of passport verification. However, there has been no news yet regarding my passport. And in total it has been 4 months since I applied for my passport. The lack of communication with the citizens of the country is ridiculous to say the least.

I went there for passport verification. The police officers were nice and polite. They were taking time and checking all the documents correctly.
