Fairly Place is headquarter of Estern Railway. Palace of bad experiences of tourists. Unnecessary forms have to fill up then have to wait for a long time. Staffs are very slow and not cordial.

It is a really slow and frustrating experience. The staff are slow and not efficient (what more can you expect in South Asia) . If you would like to purchase return to ticket to Dhaka try buying the ticket from Dhaka at least 10 days before your journey. The AC chair is better than AC cabin. Even though AC cabin is priced more. AC chair sells out quickly. So do make adjustments with your plans and come early. The return ticket price from Kolkata to Dhaka is 2150 Rupee for AC Cabin and 1450 for AC Chair. The train from Kolkata leaves only on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. The place opens at 10am but expect a big line by then. If you fail to buy tickets from here go to Chitpur station. They start selling tickets from 4pm until 9pm.

The headquarters of eastern railway, Fairlie Place is situated near strand Road,Kolkata. Reaching by bus or hiring a cab is not at all an issue. Divisions including Sealdah, Howrah, Asansol, Malda are controlled from this building. Road side lots of street food available at a reasonable price. The nearest railway station to reach Fairlie Place is B.B.D.Bag railway station (circular railway). Overall, easily noticeable under normal traffic conditions.

A really wonderful and lovely location. It initially appears to be a sculpture from the British era. There are wonderful historical relics from the past as well as incredibly friendly and diligent individuals working to advance India.

Great view of the banks of Ganges along with various shops to feed your hunger. Did I forget to mention the route always take you to your destination in a blink of an eye.
