Regional Passport Office, Madurai

I recently visited the Regional Passport Office in Madurai to apply for a surrender certificate. The staff were very helpful, polite, and guided me clearly through the entire process. The process was completed within a single day, which I truly appreciate. Everything was handled efficiently and professionally. Please note that an appointment is required. It must be booked in person at the office between 9:00 AM and 12:00 AM. Appointments are not available on Wednesdays and weekends, so plan accordingly. Overall, I am happy with their service and really appreciate the support and cooperation provided by the team. Thank you for the smooth experience.

Be prepared to wait for at least 3 hours and maximum upto 5 hours, even if you have a scheduled appointment. The process is well-organized, but due to crowd and multiple queues, the waiting time can stretch longer than expected. Important Tips: Carry all necessary documents along with photocopies -- it'll save you time and stress. If you're surrendering your passport, make sure to take photocopies of all the pages (including the blank ones). Staff are generally helpful, but the volume of applicants can lead to delays. Overall, the experience is smooth if you're well-prepared. Just don't expect it to be super quick.

This is the worst place I have ever seen. The security staff are extremely rude, and the passport officers show no professionalism. There is no proper shelter, and a few broken chairs are placed directly under the sunlight. The security personnel spend their time chatting. and seem to enjoy teasing people who come here humbly seeking help. The central government should take into account the Google reviews and take action against the erring officials.

World worst behaviour from RPO and enquiry officers. Only hareshment to customers. They will follow lastest MEA rules. Only followed before legacy rules, legacy token system.

Need to improve a lot in terms of service and customer satisfaction. Information is not available and distributed properly and the staff behaviour is not acceptable at all the time. Misleading information between RPO, PSK and police station which makes it difficult process for illiterate people. We have applied for passport renewal in USA which is very smooth and easy process.

One of the worst office in Madurai.....They don't know the Value of time.....They are all simply sitting or roming here and there....

Very very very bad service, like a fish market. The officers treating people with cheap words .zero stars also not give. Very worst service ever.
