To prevent the rampant corruption in register offices, every single process must be digitised. Also, registrars get into a cartel with politicians, police and builders to get a cut of the registered value. So with registration, we pay government tax and corruption tax. This can only be improved, if it costs minimal price to register properties. Cities in India could rather increase property tax to take care of this revenue. Also, streamline the revenue generation process.

I needed a Guideline Value Report, and against a request letter, it was issued within a few days. The subregistrar (Mr Shanmugam) and his team were very helpful and even called me when the report was ready, so I could collect it. For the size of the office, they handle a very large number of registrations, and even the Sale Deed was processed very efficiently, without delays.

It's very easy to miss the lane from main road. Be watchful. It's in the first floor, narrow steps and lights are a problem. Very difficult for senior citizens to climb. Go with someone like a lawyer who knows their way in the office, then things will be done smoother. You wouldn't understand anything if you go alone. There is very limited seating space and mostly it's crowded and occupied. Government offices esp SROs where people spend a lot of time should be in ground floor with proper ventilation, easy accessibility, seating space for the public and with proper instructions. This office doesn't have anything of that sort. We are in 2020 and we are still dealing with offices that look like 1950s with smelly bathrooms and improper hygenie. Pity those who work there as well. Carry water bottle & snacks if you are gonna spend long time, there isn't a proper tea shop also in that area.

This S.R.O is placed in first floor of the building which very awkward, whereas the document writers office are in the ground floor. Basic requirements for the government is the public access irrespective of aged person, pregnant women and handicapped which is not taken by the government officials to the face value before taking office for public, No LIFT

Very small compared to other Sub-registrar office in Chennai. Yet very busy as it covers most of the northern OMR and ECR areas. Parking at owners risk. 2+ document writers available nearby.

Register office is available in first floor . Based in corruption only work will go other wise work won't move. We can't type the document outside they will ask to type the document where they are saying. Corruption or illegal money we have to pay in the typing shop only.
