Passport office located shastri bhavan is a very busy office engaged in issuing passport to the applicant .You have to register your time by on line application and be present in time with all your records like aadhar card residential proof Please note that all your proof should have the same residential address If not they may reject your application qualification certificate date of birth proof and other relevant papers in time You have to pay the fees If it is tatkal passport you may have to pay extra amount 2000 or so once they check they may ok it and you may be asked to.leave For regular application police verification will be done only after that you will get the passport For tatkal you will get the passport within a week police verification will be done after words. There are so many passport offices are there now a days .l took my daughter's passport from Tambaram passport office.Goverment has engaged software company to complete the work In time.and has opened so many passport offices to bring down peoples anxiety in getting passport in time

Went here to collect my 2 kids' OCI card and was surprised positively but the behavior and communication by the girl who was in OCI room. She had a good command over English as well as local language. Had to wait for an hour or so for my turn, but when it came i was done with in 5 minutes. If it was any sooner i would have felt bad to have flown in from my city in the morning and flown out of chennai the same evening and spending close to 8000rs for flight and taxi. But really we need more people like that girl to make our country great again.

Sometimes the check list given on the site and the one being used here is differing. So better to check here as well. Staff are having a very positive and calm approach.

Staff attitude is good and cordial. But asking for too many documents copies which are not specified in the website.
