General Post Office, Bhubaneswar

Head post office of Bhubaneswar. Has around 10 counters for various postal services. Usually for speed post and registry post counter 1 , 2 and 3 are used. And the rest are basically for other services like banking, etc. Has good parking space and kindly note the break hours before standing in queue as different counters have different break timings .

Good. As this is the main post office, there should be ample seating and waiting areas arranged by the department.

We went for adhar updation. Staffs are very cooperative. No doubt there is a wait because of huge crowd. But you just take your token and wait for your turn. Everything is very systomatic. Thank you for serving us nicely.

Very good and well maintained. The building is old but you can't tell from the way it is kept. So for building management Staff was very helpful and cooperative I went to dehi, bangalore gpo and many such other small and big post offices but I say the delhi, blore staff must visit this post office for training. The place is just 1km away from the Bhubaneswar Railway Station. It is easy to reach out to this place. Various facilities are available at the GPO. It ranges from Parcel delivery services like Speed Post, providing Banking facilities like PPF, Savings Account, PLI, Small Savings Account, to enrolling for Aadhar Card etc. It also houses the newly launched India Post Payment Bank(IPPB) where one can avail various Banking services. The Employees are very cooperative. The Philatelic Bureau which is helpful for the Philatelic enthusiasts to get access to the newly released postage stamps as well as old aged stamps is also available here. Good services.

It houses a Philatelic Bureau which is helpful for the Philatelic enthusiasts to get access to the newly released postage stamps as well as old aged stamps. It ranges from Parcel delivery services like Speed Post, Registered Post, providing Banking facilities like PPF, Savings Account, PLI, Small Savings Account, to enrolling for Aadhar Card. While entering here, you need to get a token slip at free of cost, the token slip will give you a number according to your required task that you would do here. Your number mentioned in the token slip will be mentioned in the large screen that is placed in the premises. Your number will be displayed on the screen along with the Counter where your task will be done. This has been done to avoid heavy rush in the premises. It has a wheelchair accessible parking lot, a wheelchair accessible entrance. Be aware of the touts who roam here and there in the premises. To know anything about the services available there, it's better to ask any person present in the counter who will help you with that.
