For a single applicant, the standard process may suffice.

I arrived well before my scheduled appointment time of 12 PM, and because there was very little rush, the entire process was completed much faster than I anticipated. The efficiency of the premium lounge staff was a major factor. The lounge has a dedicated team to guide you through every single step, from document verification to biometrics. The key benefit of the Premium Lounge is the convenience. If any documents are missing, you can print them right there without leaving the premises. This alone saves a significant amount of stress and time. They also offer services like on-site biometric photo capture, which is incredibly helpful. While the normal queue can be fast if you're lucky and there's no rush, the premium lounge guarantees a swift and guided experience. And for the little things that make a difference, the lounge offers complimentary tea, coffee, cookies, and a section with sweets and salted chips. While it's impossible to "cover the cost" of the lounge just by eating snacks--as a friend of mine proved by eating 30 chocolates and still barely making a dent--they are a nice touch that adds to the overall convenience and comfort. One important note for those driving: There is parking available, but it is paid and can be a downside. The cost starts at 300 for the first two hours. If you exceed that by even a minute, an additional 100 is added, which can quickly add up. Overall, the VFS Global German Consulate in Mumbai offers a fantastic service. If you're on a tight schedule or just want peace of mind, the premium lounge is a worthwhile investment, just be mindful of the parking fees.

I recently visited the VFS Global Mahalaxmi center for a UK visa application with my wife and our 4-year-old. As soon as we entered, the staff asked if we wanted the standard section or the premium lounge. We opted for the standard section. I had read reviews about staff pressuring applicants to upgrade, but we faced zero pressure. The only negative is the security guard (who verifies our country /appointment timing) - Mr. Sunil Desai who was extremely rude and disrespectful to us. The rest of the experience was fantastic. We proceeded to the UK Visa office on the first floor, where the VFS staff were incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. Even with a young child, our total waiting time in the standard section was only about half an hour, and the whole process was very smooth. I highly recommend skipping the premium lounge and going for the standard section - it is extremely easy and completely stress-free. Don't fall for the premium trap on seeing previous reviews.

Best experience of service I have ever experienced anywhere. The staff is very polite and warm makes you feel comfortable and ease of handling the documents. I have opted for premium service here and got best assistance from Mr Javed here he explained about the documents and the relevance of those documents needed for my application here you get help with print outs, snacks, coffee and refreshments. Nice, cooperative & polite staff. Sufficient facilities to wait and lounge. Several travel related value-added services are also present. I loved the fact that the staff was readily speaking Marathi once I uttered a single Marathi word. Of course, they were also fluent in Hindi and English. Processes are well established and crowd is also well managed.

I opted for the premium lounge service, and overall the process was smooth and well-managed. However, one suggestion is regarding payment guidance. I made the payment using a bank UPI app, but later it was informed that only Google Pay or PhonePe were preferred. It would be helpful if this requirement is clearly communicated in advance, as multiple UPI options are generally available. Clear upfront guidance would improve the overall experience.
