Pattom Palace Post Office

Extremely disappointed service Highly disappointed with the service at India Post for international Speed Post. While the clerk staff were polite, one counter staff member was shockingly rude and arrogant. I had clearly informed in advance that my parcel weighed over 20 kg (around 25 kg). Despite knowing this, she instructed me to lift and place it on a small weighing scale that could not handle the weight. When the machine started beeping, she yelled at me to remove it immediately, without offering any assistance. There was no proper space to place such a heavy parcel, and I nearly injured my hand lifting it alone. Later, she asked another staff member to use a larger weighing scale kept inside the office -- which clearly should have been used from the beginning. Public service does not mean treating customers with disrespect. This behaviour was unprofessional, unsafe, and completely unacceptable. Very disappointing experience.

Very disappointing experience with the delivery staff. The behaviour of the postman who called me regarding a delivery was extremely arrogant. Even though I was politely guiding him for a smooth delivery, he responded by saying I "don't have to teach him," in a tone that was clearly disrespectful and highly unprofessional. Staff who handle important documents should at least maintain basic courtesy. This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable and leaves a very negative impression of the service.

A full fledged post office with traditional Trivandrum Royal construction. The palace like architecture is unique among other post offices. Friendly staff and convenient location. Speed post is available only up to noon. Avoid visiting here with your car. There's no parking availability for four wheelers. Limited parking is available for two wheelers.

Utter waste post office, they are still living in 80s. They still need cash and no UPIs ACCEPTED, please give the employees with better computers and high speed connectivity..It's difficult for them as well the commoners to spend hours there and to come back with empty handed.. Employees are trying their best to help us but technology does not allow them to work in full fledge ending into wastage of energy, Time, effort of both parties

Good service...the only problem is the parking...cannot park the vehicle near by as it is closed to the pattom traffic signal...all services are available and as it is the main office, the service timing are increased here rather than other post offices...

I have faced immense difficulty from the counter staffs while sending the parcels / registered letters / speed post. So it is suggested that the customers wish to send parcels / registered letters/ speed post etc., may approach Professional courier / International courier at Pattom or some other post offices. Two months back I went to Pattom Palace Post Office (PIn Code: 695004) for sending some sweets (biscuits and toffees) packed in a box and covered with kora cotton cloth, to my daughter. The lady counter staff informed that kora cotton cloth was not allowed for parcels. So I removed the cloth and wrote the address on the card board box. Then she accepted the parcel. At the same time I saw a person handing over a packet covered with kora cotton cloth in the next counter. When I inquired, she told that there was exemption for that packet. I did not know whether the postal department has such discrimination. Today I went the same post office for sending some sweets (biscuits and toffees) packed in a box got from a textile shop. It was not covered with cloth. I purposely avoided the lady staff whom I met with a bad incident before and I approached the other lady staff. She told me that the advertisement was not allowed on the box. So I took some forms kept at the counter and pasted the same with gum. Then she told that there was misuse of forms and so it was not allowed. Then I asked them what I had to do for sending the parcel. They handed over a piece of paper and asked me to stick it above the advertisement. There were so many incidents in which I faced difficulty, while sending registered letters from the above mentioned two counter staffs. I thought that there would be lack of experience and knowledge made them to behave so. But from the above two incidents it is clear that they have no customer friendly approach. My wife and I have got PPF accounts and bank accounts at the same post office. The counter staffs dealing with PPF and Bank accounts were very friendly and cordial. I have been dealing with Pattom Palace post office from 2001 on wards. I have never faced harassment from any of the post offices in India before. Last year, when the post master was a madam, the office was very customer friendly. But the present post master is unable control his subordinates and redress the complaints raised by the customers.
