India Post office Kothanur

Many people have shared negative comments, which may or may not be accurate. The staff are simply following the department's guidelines. When I visited, the in-charge person was on leave, and a senior staff member was handling the courier services. She explained the process for making changes and also mentioned the reason behind it. She advised that my request might get rejected and that I might end up wasting money. However, since there was a system issue that day, she cooperated and helped me complete the process. Later, I even received a message confirming my booking. Regarding the 1 revenue stamp -- as some reviewers mentioned earlier, it has now moved online in recent months, and you have to purchase it digitally. The process is a bit lengthy, but I managed to buy it online for court purposes.

is this even supposed to stay? if i cant get a 1rs revenue stamp which is sort of compulsory in documents. The old lady at counter told me you can find it near courts. So i travelled 5kms for post office and now 25kms for stamp. these guy are insane, better close this post office . pathetic

Worst experience, the lady in the deposit counter is like snail. This is my second encounter since she is in charge. No drinking water, and no respect for people standing in the queue for hours.

It is places like this which lend a bad name to government run institutions and driving one of the oldest institutions in the country to be a loss making institution. It is because of the poor service offered by the staff the common people are forced to buy expensive services from private players. Went there to send a parcel however my parcel was not accepted citing the following reasons: 1. My parcel is wrapped in newspaper; 2. I have pasted the address tag using brown tape. A little more cooperative approach would have saved me a lot of time and effort. The staff lacks energy and enthusiasm to deliver any service and are manning the counter just for the sake of it!

Very small PO with minimal services. Approach is via a small narrow road. Currently (2026) it does NOT do any enrollment or update services. Given the growth around Kothanur, India Post should seriously consider opening a bigger post office with more services.

Absolutely the worst post office experience I've ever had. The staff here behave like they are doing you a huge favor by even acknowledging your existence. Most of them are glued to their phones watching videos, laughing, and ignoring customers standing in line. When you try to speak, they respond rudely or not at all. Every other visit, they say "server is down" and refuse to send letters or parcels. No apology, no solution--just a shrug. They don't even accept UPI, and if you pay in cash, the lady at the counter will argue endlessly over giving change as if it's coming from her own pocket. It's no surprise people are switching to private courier services. At this rate, this branch will drive away every customer and make themselves completely irrelevant. Private companies actually value time, treat customers with respect, and know how to run a service without constant excuses. If you want frustration, wasted time, and zero professionalism, come here. Otherwise, avoid this place like the plague.

I visited this post office to follow up on a delivery that hadn't been completed, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The woman at the counter was arrogant, avoided eye contact, and dismissed me mid-sentence, simply telling me to "check online" without taking the time to hear my full concern. This kind of attitude seems to be the norm at this branch. The staff consistently come across as disinterested, unhelpful, and lacking even the most basic sense of customer service. It often feels like they believe they're doing the public a favor rather than fulfilling a professional responsibility. It's high time the team here reconsiders their approach, treats visitors with respect, and does their job with the courtesy and accountability that's expected in any public-facing role.

Extremely rude staff. Reached bank at 4pm after beating the trafficr. Rudely refused to provide service. As per the lean guy who is very very rude and unprofessional no service is provided to customer after 2pm. I requested him to keep the parcel and post it when office resumes next day but he refused to offer any sort of help and very rudely responded.. The staff can get on to your nerves with their behaviour and ruin your day. Avoid this branch if you can. And surely my review does not matter to them, their rating is so poor but they don't care i guess. Wish I could give 0star. Sometimes you may not be able to serve the customer due to limitations, but atleast you can behave well.
