This airport was better than my expectations from a city like Ahemdabad. Clean, hassle free movement and a good food court to eat from. I had a falafel bowl and cold pressed orange juice from lollo rosso and it was pretty impressive.

I visited Ahmedabad International terminal after four years and was pleased to see significant improvements in the airport infrastructure. The terminal was clean, and robotic cleaning machines were in operation, which was impressive. Also, parking, drop in were significantly improved. However, there is still room for improvement: 1. Only one security checkpoint was operational; opening all counters would significantly reduce security check time. 2. The escalator was not working. 3. Porter charges should be standardized to avoid unfair pricing. 4. Some shops after security appear to overcharge passengers. I personally experienced this at Induben Khakhrawala, where an extra 260 was attempted, and at Nescafe, which refused to sell a single samosa citing a billing issue but was fine selling two--an amusing but frustrating experience. 5. It would be helpful if the airport authority provided clearer options for passenger feedback and complaints within the terminal. 6. Number of times passenger's boarding pass and passport checks could be reduced. I have almost shown 5-6 times!!

I cleared security and boarding in under a minute with almost no line. It was especially helpful arriving early in the morning when I was still feeling a bit groggy. Announcements are clear without being overwhelming, the flooring is spotless, the air conditioning feels just right, and there are plenty of comfortable seating areas. It has a peaceful vibe that is quite rare in busy Indian airports. The staff were very polite and professional. At the security check, one officer even made a gentle humorous remark about my belt setting off the scanner, which helped ease the usual morning rush. Everyone I encountered was courteous and ready to assist without any fuss. Food choices are good and fairly priced. I had a tasty butter garlic naan with paneer butter masala from one of the local counters for around 180 rupees, and the fafda jalebi stall offered authentic Gujarati flavors that reminded me of street food back home. There are also familiar options like Starbucks, Subway, and several vegetarian thali and South Indian counters, all fresh and available even at odd hours. Free WiFi was fast and easy to connect to. I had no issues uploading photos or staying in touch. I also accessed the lounge using my credit card, which provided comfortable recliners, clean restrooms, and unlimited hot beverages. It was a nice spot to relax for a couple of hours. I appreciated the dedicated smoking zone outside Terminal 1. It is well ventilated and placed away from the main entrance, so there is no smoke drifting inside the building. Connectivity is excellent, with frequent flights to major cities across India. My return flight to Lucknow left right on schedule with no delays. All in all, this is one of the best managed airports I have come across in the country. It made my entire trip smooth and enjoyable.
