My experience with the office was overall very positive. I visited to apply for a Passport Surrender Certificate, and the staff member who assisted me was extremely helpful, professional, and supportive. They guided me properly and made the entire visit smooth and pleasant.
However, I faced difficulties with the website. It was not possible to book an appointment online, and there was no clear information available regarding the required documents. Improving the website and providing proper document guidelines would make the process much easier for applicants.
For those visiting for a Passport Surrender Certificate, the following documents are required:
1.Copy of Indian passport
2.Copy of foreign passport (carry the original as well)
3.Signed application stating that you are surrendering your citizenship
4.Aadhaar card copy (carry the original)
5.Passport-size photograph
6.Copy of citizenship certificate
Overall, despite the website issues, the in-person assistance was excellent and made my experience a great one.

Very disappointing experience at the Passport Office. Despite being such an important public service department, the basic facilities for citizens are completely neglected. Parking charges are unreasonably high with no free or subsidized option for the general public. The waiting area has no fans, no clean washrooms, and no drinking water facility -- absolutely unacceptable for a place where people wait for hours, including senior citizens, women, and children.
On top of this, calls and queries often go unanswered, leaving applicants frustrated and helpless. One wonders where the passport processing fees we pay are actually going, because clearly it is not being used to improve citizen services. The Ministry of External Affairs should take immediate steps to make this office more citizen-friendly. We deserve basic dignity and facilities when availing such an essential service.

I was very afraid about going to this place once I had read all the reviews and my anxiety was over the roof.
But truth be told, I had no glitch in process. I went there for PCC Application and had booked my appointment.
I understand the reason for some bad reviews - it was very crowded outside on the ground floor (Idk maybe these people had no pre booked appointments)
Here's my suggestions. To save yourself from unnecessary headache
1. Carry all the documents required - original and copy
2. It would be so much smoother if you've an appointment booked online
3. Be courteous to the staff (these people are dealing with 300-400 customers per staff, guessing by the crowd I saw in 1 hour)
4. Maybe reach a bit earlier than your scheduled appointment like 15-30 minutes earlier
5. Pray that you're assigned to some nice officer (I went to room 10 I guess. He was a gentleman and solved my issue within a few minutes)
Thanks.
Ps: Outside there's a Chhole Kulche place, serves 2 kulche for 70 rupees, it was mad delicious.

Most useless and worst place to go (but no choice). Staff here don't know how to behave and treat you like cattle. It is a passport office, but the condition is no different from a junkyard. You can keep going here for months and still find no solution; you will find yourself in the same place in the progress of your passport. Good luck wasting your time, sacrificing your self-respect and dignity for nothing. They do want you to pay police for police verification process because they don't have a solution and don't know (perhaps don't want either) how to stop it. How frustrating it is that normal civilians feel so powerless against the harassment of government offices.

The service and resolution provided were extremely disappointing. During my first appointment at the Jhandewalan branch, the process was left incomplete from their end. I was directed from counter A to B to C, where the staff member informed me that my PCC process was completed and that an officer would visit for verification. However, my application status later showed as "incomplete," forcing me to book another appointment at the Bhikaji Cama Place branch. Upon visiting there, I was told that I had never reported to counter C during my previous appointment -- despite the fact that I had -- and my application was rejected again after multiple follow-ups and calls.

Everything is systematic but the usage of the phone is not allowed inside the office , so make sure you write the file number on a paper and carry along, make sure you always carry pen and paper along with other documents. My case was of a renewal so it took almost no time, it was unnecessarily stuck at the RPO
