Post Office Passport Seva Kendra

Visited for renewal on 2nd Feb 2026. My appointment was for 10 am and I got free in just 20 minutes or so. I was there on time and had all my documents with me as was required. There were only about 10-15 other people but many of these were not carrying all the required documents and hence faced delays. There were only two active counters but the work was getting done fast and the staff was cordial and calmly assisted all and advised those that were not carrying all the required papers.

I had taken appointment at POPSK (Post Office Passport Seva Kendra) Nehru Place almost a month back using the Passport Sewa Portal for 12 noon on 25th May 2023 for passport renewal of my 6 year old son. I had got message: BATCH 22 SEQ 1 REISSUE NORMAL DT 25/05/23 Report at 12:00. I reached at 11:30 AM to be on safer side. The POPSK Nehru place is pathetic with unstable steel chairs, no water or toilet facilities and no facility for photocopy!! Worse still, the centre has no air conditioning. It is absolutely disorganised being run with just 3 staff each taking lot of time for one person. The initial document checking person will ensure that you will have to walk half a kilometer to the nearest photocopy center located in Nehru Place computer market to take photocopy of one or other document that he will insist. We finally were called at 12:50 PM for the appointment at 12 noon!! It was a horrible experience having to wait in so much heat with my wife and 6 year old son. I could see several couples with even smaller children waiting for their turn. MEA should deregister such passport sewa kendras functioning without even the basic facilities like drinking water, toilets and no air conditioning in a city like Delhi.

Overall all good. Appointment honoured gracefully. Staff pointed out themselves digilocker connected documents speed up process. If you're visiting for passport appointment 1. Bring all 3 original documents with self signed photocopies (aadhar pan X class certificate) 2. Try be on time (reporting).

Review for Nehru Place Passport Office: My appointment was scheduled for 12:45 PM. There was a huge crowd, and only two people were handling the verification process. The air conditioning was not working, and most of the chairs were broken. The waiting area lacked even basic facilities. Despite arriving on time, my turn came after almost 2 hours. Very poor experience -- the management seriously needs to improve crowd handling and provide basic amenities.

The overall experience in passport office was very bad. Staffs are very rude & an illiterate as they don't know that how to talk with other people. It's totally a fish market. They will not considered your appointment timings seriously. Only one person is there to attend you at a time. Work is very slow. No professionlism at all.They can pickup the application randomly.Building is very old. No facilities of photocopy machine, water & washroom etc. They even don't deserve 1 star rating.. I can straight away give them zero star rating .SO PLEASE DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE.

IMPORTANT ! As highlighted earlier in another review, this location is wrong. Refer to nehru place sub post office. My experience was good. Was free within 45 minutes. Some benches are broken and AC were not there but in winter it works out well as there is good sunlight too. Perhaps in summer, it could be an issue.

Very disappointing experience at this post office. Staff behavior is not polite or helpful, and instead of guiding customers properly they show careless attitude. Their system/server is often down which causes long delays, and there is no proper time management. Even for small work, people have to wait a long time. I hope the authorities take this seriously and improve service quality.

It's truly disheartening to witness the level of negligence during the passport verification process. Despite carrying every required original document and photocopy, the officials seemed determined to find trivial reasons to reschedule the appointment. It's unfortunate how some government employees, rather than assisting citizens, display indifference toward the genuine efforts of applicants--especially those who travel from distant places, only to be turned away within seconds without valid explanation. This isn't just poor service--it reflects a serious gap in empathy and accountability. We urge the concerned authorities to address this, ensure better training, and bring humanity into the process. Citizens deserve dignity and clarity, not frustration at every step.
