UTTARPARA KOTRUNG MUNICIPALITY

Uttarpara Municipality was founded on 14 April 1853 after the second appeal by zamindar Joykrishna and others for a municipality to the Government of Bengal, the first appeal made by them in 1851 was rejected.Uttarpara was only the second town in Bengal to voluntarily adopt the Municipal Act of 1850 Sec XX16 - Serampore was the first town to adopt it. However, while in Serampore European residents pushed the issue through, in Uttarpara it was the zamindar Joy Krishna Mukherjee who played the pivotal role and made Uttarpara Municipality the first in the state by establishing it in 1853, 12 years before Serampore Municipality and 23 years before Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

UTTARPARA KOTRUNG MUNICIPALITY IS VERY NEGLIGENCE FOR ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION INSPITE OF REPORTING TO THE CHAIRMAN AND COUNCILLOR FOR LAST 2 YEARS. THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER MR. SHANKAR BANERJEE CALLED ME ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO , HE PROMISED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION BUT TILL NOW HE IS UNABLE TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION ON THE DEVELOPER. TOTAL CORRUPTION IN THE MUNICIPALITY. THE CHAIRMAN IS RELUCTANT TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST THE BUILDER. AND NOT RESPONDING EVEN AFTER TWO HEARINGS CONDUCTED. KNOWING THE ILLEGALITY IN THE BUILDING, HE IS SILENT. SO, THE SMELL OF CORRUPTION IS A MUST. SO THE ADMINISTRATION IS FULL OF CORRUPTION. THANKS

I had gone to uttar para municipality for my daughters birth certificate where her name and mother's name were not mentioned, however I contract the birth and death deptt where one male and one female staff had guided us very clearly and on 16-05-2023. On that day I have collected the form and fill up the form with requisit documents with prescribe fees and deposit the same to the deptt. They had given date on 18-05-2023 . Today I have received my daughter's certificate within 2 minutes.Realy I astonished to their services of the said municipality. I specially thankful to the two no staff of birth and death certificate department. Their behaviour are really wonderful. Again thanks to the municipality authority for quick disposal of the matter. The woman in the birth /death counter is very rude . She has given me wrong information . May she passed by cheating . She is not helpful. .I don't know why she is there??

Most corrupt municipality. Citizen's inconvenience is the prime motto. Run by corrupt and incompetent people. Highly dissatisfied.
