Visited on March 25 with friends and family. If you're in Agartala, u can even walk and reach this place. Beating Retreat Ceremony which is held at this border twice a week We were notlucky enough that I can witness the parade but has been gone upto Zero line. Parking of personal vehicles is chargeable here, witnessing the parade is not chargeable.

Very disciplined from start to end. Requesting visitors, don't scream and make nuisance by talking loud among groups within their territory. Follow BSF personal instructions. Some aunties lack civic senses a lot. Thanks to BSF staffs for being clam and professional all the time handling such people. Retreat starts from 4pm. Lasts for 20 mins approx. Take a Govt of India ID along with you to deposit as security until the retreat ends. Photos and videos are allowed even with jawans but respectfully. No bathroom available. Relieve yourself before reaching here. Avoid hiring auto/toto outside the check post. Prefer online booking and save a lot from scams. Canteen (snacks) available within premise. It is better to reach 30 minutes in advance to get it done early.

Integrated Check Post Agartala is the last line of defence between Tripura and Akhura region of Bangladesh. It national Border of India and Bangladesh country. Beating retreat ceremony is carried out on the Border here daily. Place is very sensitive and Full of security

This border is open to foreigners crossing to Bangladesh as of November 2025. No issues, although there are no money changers on either side of the border - so bring exact change for your bangladesh visa on arrival ($51) in USD or Bangladeshi Taka. Very easy to take a CNG to Akhaura and catch a train (standing room only may be the only ticket available however).

I visited this place for the Beating Retreat Ceremony which is held at this border, but on arrival I was informed that it just happens twice a week(one day is Sunday) I wasn't lucky enough that I can witness the parade but anyways all the best to future visitors and tourists please arrange accordingly. I would like a mechanism that may be designed that an hourly or two hourly pass for the persons visiting from both sides may be issued so that neighbors can get a glimpse of life on the other side of the border. Please correct me if such a provision is already in place and I m requesting this out of lack of information. 2. If no. Of parades can be increased per week. 3. This is a quite big request but I m putting it forward because I think relationship of India-Bangladesh are now more then a good friend. So moving one step further, I ask a highway that may be constructed connecting Kolkata and Agartala via Bangladesh which can be economically win-win for both the countries, as goods and services can reach this part of India in record time and a world class infrastructure will be built in Bangladesh, opening tourism and marketing opportunity for both countries.

Wonderfully decorated neat and clean office. Immigration officer take time but lots of counter available. They are too slower than Bangladeshi Immigration officer. Much more fan needed for cooling the office or a/c, otherwise everything is okay.

Very good experience. You can visit Akhura border Agartala on Saturday & Sunday 04:00 PM for the Kuchkaoaj ceremony. But the place is very limited. No gallary is there to see the Kuchkaoaj Ceremony. Little bit consisted. But ok for one time visit. You can go up to the last border pillar of India.
