Ludhiana Airport

Overall nice and tranquil place to be visited

How pathetic an airport can be, one can see at Ludhiana airport. Absolutely the worst airport I've ever seen. What a big embarrassment it is on the face of Punjab government. Moreover, please don't expect any good taxi system to Ludhiana. Even a 10km costs 1000 rupees. Getting an ola uber is a nightmare. I booked prime ola and the driver asked me to share with someone else at this time of covid! And then he said that he would cancel it otherwise. Taxi mafia, broken infrastructure, no connectivity is what defines this Ludhiana airport. Shame on the Punjab government.

Intresting thing is You have to cross railway track before entering main gate of Airport, After entering the airport you will see car and bike parking on your left hand side and you will see departure and arrival hall on your right hand side. It has Simple Departure and Arrival Hall, Apron(aircraft stand) is near about 80 Meter walkable distance from arrival and departure hall for boarding passenger. The construction of runway is simple it has 1400 Meter Long and 30 Meter wide Runway With Only one taxiway at 30Side for ATR aircrafts. Also Runway Lighting with Simple approach available for night landings 12Side

Really good experience, Aai must ensure to keep it up

This airport is govt managed/operated. Thus it isn't open for flight bookings to general public. Moreover the airport was in shambles and a clear indication of severe lack of upkeep and maintenance. To reach any city near here (if arriving from outside Punjab) you'd have to arrive either at Chandigarh or Amritsar and then go by road the rest of the way. And without having a personal connection with any native, it'll be hard to find a taxi that agrees to a fair rate. Just a heads-up on what to expect.

It's a local airport not an international airport. So there are short route flights. Also there is facility of clean drinking water and washrooms are also available here.

It was a bad luck for me to loose a flight due to heavy rains. Air India had taken care by providing a cab. One which I have understood after coming here is, we should never pre-plan for the next destination till we reach the 1st destination(Delhi). We never know the waiting period. :-)
