Kisama Heritage Village

I recently visited Kisama Heritage Village, Kohima, Nagaland during the Hornbill Festival, and it was an unforgettable cultural experience. Kisama truly reflects the soul of Naga traditions, showcasing rich heritage, vibrant customs, and the unity of different tribes in one place. The festival atmosphere was energetic and colorful, with traditional dances, folk music, indigenous games, local crafts, and authentic Naga cuisine. Every corner of the village felt alive with history and culture, making it a perfect destination for anyone interested in Northeast India's traditions. I stayed in a tent accommodation within the festival area, which cost 900 per person for one night. The tents were simple yet comfortable, well-organized, and suitable for travelers who want to stay close to the festival activities. Staying there made it easy to enjoy late-night cultural performances and early morning events without any hassle. The local people were extremely warm, welcoming, and proud of their culture. Their hospitality added great value to the overall experience. The surroundings were clean, scenic, and well-managed despite the large number of visitors. Overall, Kisama Village during the Hornbill Festival is a must-visit destination for cultural explorers, photographers, and travelers seeking authentic experiences. It beautifully blends tradition, community spirit, and celebration, leaving visitors with lasting memories.

It was my first visit of Nort East, but definitely not last. Beautiful people, amazing culture. I was lucky enough to visit this place during an fantastic festival Hornbill in 2025. I was amazed how well everything was organized, how beautifully designed this place (the cherry blossoms added a special touch) This is a unique opportunity to observe the traditions and culture of the Naga tribes. Very authentic, very colorful, a complete delight. I would definitely recommend to all my friends who have a desire to travel around India and get acquainted with its culture.

During the hornbill festival, Kisama heritage village if filled with different cultural gatherings of naga tribes and it is a very pleasing experience to be a part of it. If anyone is planning to visit then 1-10 december is very nice and try to spend the night there to get a better experience of the festival

It's such a beautiful tourist spot , you can get to understand the variety of culture, their way of life and how they lived and living. Very beautifully done up , each village representing a tribe. I was awe struck the way they have exhibited everything.

Visited Hornbill Festival 2025 and the experience was incredible. The traditional dance performances, Naga food stalls, and tribal music created an amazing cultural atmosphere. The venue was well-organized, and the local people were very friendly and welcoming. Perfect place for culture lovers and travel explorers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nagaland in December!

A very enjoyable visit to the hornbill festival. A must do and a bucket list item for anyone. It is not just a cultural extragavanza where you get to see the various tribal music and dance, you also get to hear various invited bands, this time there was a kpop band. There are also interesting activities like a warcry battle where even the audience is invited to participate. But what I enjoyed the most was going into the Murungs of thr various tribes and understanding their lifestyle and the subtle differences between them. These are very hospitable people who are very generous and proud about explaining about their tribe. Make the time to go around these. They even ensured that there was vegetarian food when we asked for it. There is also a shopping area which has a wide variety of handicrafts and food products to take back as souvenirs.

This is the Hornbill Festival that happens every year from Dec 1 to 10. It was an amazing experience seeing so many traditions, performances, and local crafts come together in one place. Honestly, it's something everyone should experience at least once
