I heard vaikom RT office is the worst in Kottayam District....I think it's true because I myself have experienced their bad service once when I went there to change my vehicle's state registration status. Very bad service. Intentionally makes you wait for long hours so that they can extort money from you.

Unbelievably Inhumane Service at Vaikom SRTO The employees at Vaikom SRTO are anything but humane. They make every process a painful ordeal, treating the public not as people seeking assistance but as nuisances. Not everyone knows the precise documentation and procedures for registrations or transactions, yet these employees are completely unhelpful, failing to guide anyone through even the simplest steps. Instead of assisting, they act like public dictators, ruling with zero empathy and basic respect. If you submit any paperwork that's slightly incorrect or incomplete, don't expect guidance. They'll simply toss the papers back at you without a word, demanding that you return with "all documents" without specifying what's missing. When asked, they refer you to outdated wall posters or outdated forums that haven't been updated in ages. It feels like their real interest is to make people go through agencies, possibly for some personal gain, rather than doing the job they're paid for. This cold and dismissive attitude isn't just directed at young people but is shamefully extended to the elderly, illiterate, and even the specially abled. It's not just negligence; it's a shocking lack of basic humanity. The behavior of these employees is a disgrace to public service and an embarrassment to the principles of serving the public. Avoid Vaikom SRTO if you can; their service is beyond appalling.

I presented my vehicle for renewal of registration on 13 Dec 2021, with all the necessary documents. Till today, that is February 5 2022. no luck. They have the authority to honour or dishonour my application. But they are mute. Why???
