To get your degree certificate attested follow the following steps, it's simple and nothing much complicated: To reach this office you can either come by train or bus, both are nearby but compatitively bus stop is the closest (~1.2kms). 1. For submitting the documents for attestation: - Pay necessary online fees, may be by yourself or you can do it at the nearby shops that are behind this regional office building. - Once done, take 2 Xerox/Print copies for your reference and one copy to be submitted while filling the application form. - After paying the necessary fees, reach visit room no. 17 (upstairs) in the office building, they'll provide you with the application form (along with the application form you have to submit the necessary documents, I have attached a pic of the same for your reference, and make sure the documents are arranged in the same order as mentioned in the pic or else be ready to be screwed up ) - After filling the application form, submit the same to the person at the same counter along with the necessary documents. - Once done they will, they will fill necessary details from their end and proceed further for QC, wherein another officer will verify the details and documents and finally your application will be forwarded to Room no. 4 (downstairs, assistant will guide you) - In Room no. 4, the officer will finally cross check the same and ask few questions (depends on that person) and then you're done, you can take the receipt and leave for the day. That's all is the process for submitting your application for attestation purpose. 2. For collecting your attested certificate - After you have submitted the application, you won't get to see the status of your application, rather they publish a list on their website on which they mention a list of application numbers for which the certificates are ready to be collected, upon submitting your application you can keep checking the website for any updates regarding your application numbers. - If you find your application number is mentioned in that list (it's published once every week's, usually on Wednesday but at the end I would say it depends, but for sure they do it every week) you can visit the office to collect your attested certificate. - Also make sure to go there between 12:00 pm to 1:30pm as they don't provide you your documents before or after that time, for collecting you have to just provide the receipt which they had given you earlier, if you're missing that there might be some consequences and other procedures to collect it which I'm not aware about as I had kept my receipt safely until I collected my attested certificate, so ensure it's safe with you and not with anyone else. That's all, finally after all of this you'll receive your attested certificate after a month's duration probably, as it depends on their verification process. I submitted my degree certificate for attestation at the Regional Commissioner's Office, Belagavi on August 26, 2025. It has been 21 days now, and I have not received my document back. What is most frustrating is the complete lack of communication. There has been no update, no information about the delay, and no response. This is unacceptable for a service that deals with time-sensitive documents crucial for people's careers and further education. Very disappointed with the inefficiency and lack of accountability. Be prepared for indefinite delays if you need any work done here. The office was good, staff was polite, helping nature. Staff there gives a proper guidance of what to do and what not to do.

We had a challenging experience during our recent trip from Bangalore to Belgaum to get my certificates attested. While the higher officials were extremely kind and polite, we unfortunately encountered some difficulty with an assistant to the higher official. Her behaviour was unexpectedly rude and unprofessional, and she spoke to us in a disrespectful and mocking manner. Having lived in Karnataka for 31 years, this was the most disappointing experience I have ever had in a government office.

To get your VTU Degree Certificate & Transcript authenticated, you need to personally visit this office to submit as well as collect your documents. Please read through their website to get an understanding of the procedure. It's helpful enough to give you an idea of what needs to be done. The guidelines and instructions for the procedure are clearly explained in a circular uploaded on their website. You can keep track of the status of your application on their website. Please be ready with your DD , you can do it in your home town itself. If your planning to do DD in belagavi it will be difficult, most of the banks are full of rush so better to do in home town, and be carefull DD should mention vtu finance officer properly. The service takes almost 1month worst experience, even though vtu is 8km away from regional office , they give reasons like they haven't got any confirmation from vtu, doesnt make any sense giving this silly reasons. Hopeless service, horrible experience.
