Doranda Head Post Office

Doranda Head Post office is among the the most largest post office in the Ranchi, one is located near Firayalal Chowk and other is in doranda. The post is in front of the pollution control board or near Fish Park. It is on the main road. It has free parking facilities. There are xerox and photocopy shops nearby post office, they also have almost all the stationary required during posting something. The post office has 6 counters, each deals will their area of influence. The PO also has refreshment center. They also display local jharkhand artifacts and interested individuals can purchase. You can use the post office facility to :- 1) sent letters to the entire globe. 2) open saving account 3) can use the facility of speed post and registry 4) can open sukanya samridhi accounts 5) can open jandhan accounts Etc.... Overall it's a well maintained government office.

It's a Tuesday and the time is 9:45am, it's been 45 minutes I am waiting outside the post office, still not open , and the contact number which has given in online it's also not able to connect the call, unacceptable, not a good experience,

Very slow and poor service. The officials in the counter are least interested in your work.

One of the best post office I have ever came across. I am a philatelist(stamp collector). And something unique I saw is these letters boxes. There are 4 colour scheme boxes in India. Yellow box(for metro cities, missing here), blue box(for district), red box(rest of India and worldwide) and green box(city proper). You don't see these boxes together nowadays! P.S: don't mistook Ranchi GPO and Doranda HO. Although CPMG sits at GPO but philatelic activities take place here at the HPO.

The staffs very cooperative ...also the office was neat and clean my package got delivered in only 2 days .

Doranda Post office offers bad service most of the time. It has not delivered my two parcels which came simultaneously for two days. At last I have to visit post office and I got my first parcel. For second parcel, they said postman has kept the parcel with himself and locked and has not taken with himself for delivery on that day. Postman was not picking phone also after one time. The staff was rude and any help for the same. It was a horrible experience as it was urgent for me to get parcel. PS: Always try to use other postal service which are far better than India post.
