I visited today on 6th of feb24. It's same like couple of year back it was. No improvement in terms of sitting space or service.
I have a query but I found no one in the enquiry section. The other staffs are present.
LOCATION -its on the left side of Bistupur Round about,on the same street of Sbi Main Branch.
WAY to POPSK - Backside of the post office, Bistupur. The way to go from the right side of the post office (there is a gate), u have to go straight and it's on your left.
PROS - Definitely it's a time saving for the people of Jamshedpur and nearby.If anyone wants to apply for fresh or renewal passport until & unless there is no urgency.
CONS - very small office and outdated. Also with very few sitting capacity.
SUGGEST TO PEOPLE - If anyone needs passport very urgently then he/she must apply in PSK(Ranchi is nearest) rather than POPSK.

Don't look over other negative reviews.
Situations have improved and the verification process has been fast-tracked.
Some Infos:
1 There are few chairs (enough if the crowd is not too much)
2 Make sure you bring original documents, their xerox and a pen, you would have to write your batch and sequence no. and sign it (go to muslim library xerox center if you don't have)
3 Talk nicely with the officials and give them respect in order to get your work done faster.
4 Each batch has 6 sequence. Wait for your turn.
5 My appointment was at 10:45 but got called out little late, around 11:10 and the complete process was done till 11:23 (no hassle)
6 10rs parking charge for 2 wheelers.
In short, this is a great alternative to Ranchi main passport office.

Steps to follow for applying of passport :-
1.Apply from any regular cyber cafe
2.Date will be given for visiting office
3.Enquiry will be sent to your place or address given
4.Be present at your place at the time of enquiry
5.Here you go with your passport
Note: If its urgent then opt for RANCHI ,if not Jamshedpur is best.

I would give a negative star if it would allow. Worst service ever. I don't understand why are we paying 2000 rs. Highly unorganised. Very pathetic service. No place to sit. They are asking people to stand in rain

No place to sit. There must be some chairs at least for women and elderly people.
People have to stand on queues long even in summer day time or on a rainy day.
Takes much time.
Your turn mostly will not come on time as per the batch time slot.
Most importantly there is a specs guy who sits inside this van carries tremendous attitude and rude behavior. He thinks he is too smart and applicants are fool.
The concerened authorities must look into these issues.
