Mr.Dinesh ji Assistant Passport officer is gem of a person. Officer like them are needed at the top. He supported me and guided me a lot during the entire process. I would recommend to kindly reach out to him if you face any issues at screening

My appointment time was 9 AM but when I reached the Passport Seva Kendra the gate was closed and after that it takes half an hour for completion of all the process. And note one more thing if you passed from BSEB then passing certificate is mandatory along with Marksheet and e-Aadhaar (with verified digital sign) for fresh/new passport.

Regional passport office but bundle of things need to improvement in this regional center. No operational lift is happened in this center only for showcase. If you demanding for lift for senior citizens then he says that it's open but no in operational. According to cleaning point of view it's need little bit improvement otherwise it's fine.

The Darbhanga passport office is in very poor condition and the system is extremely disappointing. People have to waste their valuable time without any proper reason. Even senior citizens are made to sit for four long hours unnecessarily, which is highly disrespectful and unfair. There is no proper arrangement for quick service, and the staff shows no sense of responsibility toward the applicants. A passport is a basic necessity, yet the office fails to provide smooth and efficient service. The management must take serious steps to improve the situation so that people do not suffer such unnecessary delays.

The entire process is poorly organized, making it feel more like a crowded railway station than a government service center. Appointments seem meaningless here. Even if you have a scheduled slot at 1:30 PM, you are forced to wait outside for at least an hour because the entrance guard is on a lunch break from 1:30 to 2:30 PM--ironically, right during peak appointment hours. Once you manage to get inside, be prepared to spend another 2-3 hours due to overcrowding and sluggish processing. Simple tasks like a passport detail change take half a day, while new applications or renewals can consume your entire day. There's absolutely no point in assigning specific reporting times if the system doesn't follow them. The authorities must urgently look into the staffing, scheduling, and basic crowd management to ensure citizens receive the service they deserve.

Only the applicant is allowed inside, leaving family members or companions to stand outside without any seating or shade. There's no proper crowd management, and the staff inside appear either overburdened or indifferent. The entry is strictly as per timing, but even then, delays are common, especially around lunch hours. Basic processes like renewals or corrections take hours due to slow processing and lack of staff. Overall, the experience is frustrating, especially for people coming from rural areas or far-off towns expecting a smooth government service. This center badly needs better crowd handling, functioning infrastructure, and a more empathetic approach toward the public it serves.
