what we experience was getting govement ferry tickets is really easy and less expensive then private ferries. Private ferries titicket fare is double then Government ferry. only u need to have ur id xerox copy to buy ferry ticket from the jetty.

Govt ferry is cheapest option to commute between islands. You may need to provide photocopy/xerox of your id so better you carry it with you.

Very good management by Andaman government with the ferry handling. The have coordinated very well for inter connection between the islands in Andaman. This office has waiting hall as well.

This office is located just passed by jetty. The staffs are busy but helpful. If you need a govt. ferry ticket, you can buy that from here. You need to show your original ID, i.e, passport and you also need to provide a copy of your passport to buy ticket. You have to fill up a form as well. Little bit troublesome, but the ticket price is very cheap comparing to the private ferries operating here. Overall I had good experience. Ticket timing is 9 AM to 1 PM.

From here you can get government boat tickets. One thing to note that tickets are started to issue on Monday for trips to be performed from Tuesday to Thursday and on Thursday trips for Friday to Monday for regular trips. Also current reservation is done on same day 30 minutes before departure time. I have appended the details of trips from Swaraj Dweep. Also I would like to draw attention for future travellers that state transport authorities have made good bus service for Kal paththar beach and Radha Nagar beach. Within 15 to 30 minutes you can get buses.authority runes 4 A.C. buses and 3 ordinary buses. Better option for budget travellers.bus stand is only 50 mt. away.

Government ferry - coral queen So this ferry has 4 classes of seating. From basic to luxury the classes are -- bunk bed , chair class , deluxe and super deluxe. The bunk bed class is on the lowest floor. It's also the floor when u leave your checked in luggage. On the first floor is the seating class . The second floor has half of the deck , a canteen , deluxe class and super deluxe class which happen to be individual cabins . The only difference being view of the ocean from super deluxe. The canteen is great n serves very basic tasty food . It serves pav bhaji , coffe , sandwiches , sambhar vada . The third floor is a huge deck and also has seating around . As compared to a private ferry this governor ferry takes double the time to go from port Blair to havelock. It wasn't bad . It was not very crowded. There is a TV in cabin class that plays 10 very weird songs over n over again. There is basic cleanliness and staff on board is friendly and accommodating. It's good if u are backpacking and you don't need the luxuries. It's very boring though and there is no wifi. Would have preferred a private ferry but it served the purpose

Good center to buy ship tickets to and from Havelock Island. Good arrangements and nice Service offered by the cooperative staffs. Passengers amenities here need to be improved more considering the number of passengers and tourists through out the year.

Service quality ok in view of heavy rush every time. All other private ferry service counter are also located adjacent to it. The building holds the port control centre too.
