In order to enter India from Bangladesh via Sylhet this is the Indian port named Dawki. The Bangladesh side port name is Tamabil. On 11-Aug-2019 we entered India through this ports. It was 9am. We found almost no rush. It took only one hour to complete. But on returning date (14-Aug-2019) it was tremendous rush and it took about more than 7 hours to complete immigration process. And the main problem at Dawki and Tamabil was port entry and exit has the same queue/line. We were few to exit from India but as the entry queue/line was too long so we had to wait for a long long time. However the customs officer had nothing to do as they are very few to handle this huge crowd. Another problem when you enter into Bangladesh after 6/7pm you will hardly get any vehicle. This is a big problem. In long vacation time these ports are over crowded. So before you come consider this fact.

Immigration service is overall good but very slow. Unfortunately the total system is analog here. That's why they need more time to complete their routine work like check passport, back pack and other commodities of tourists.

You can get your immigration done peacefully and officials are very cooperative in both the side ... ..
