Barot Valley is a peaceful and scenic destination surrounded by lush green mountains, rivers, and pine forests. The Uhl River flowing through the valley adds to its natural beauty and calm vibe. It's an ideal place for nature lovers, solo travelers, and those looking to escape city noise.
The weather is pleasant, the air is fresh, and the locals are warm and welcoming. Perfect for trekking, riverside walks, photography, camping, and trout fishing. Roads are mostly good, but the last stretch can be narrow, which adds to the adventure.
If you love quiet, untouched hill stations with raw natural beauty, Barot Valley is definitely worth visiting.
This is a offbeat location situated at Himachal Pradesh. Less crowded and full of calmness. You can taste trout fish here as many farms situated near by. The road to barot valley is narrow and full of amazing views. You can also visit the fall situated around 10 km from barot valley. Not many options of hotels as this place get seasonal tourist flow.
One of the most beautiful valleys of Himachal. You can enjoy various views here...the rustic villages, greenery spread across, lovely waterfalls and gushing river. There is option of camping, trekking, cycling, fishing etc. One can also purchase their local produce like potatoes, kidney beans etc. A very beautiful place, must visit!
Barot Valley, tucked away in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, is a hidden gem for nature lovers and peace seekers. Unlike the more crowded hill stations, this valley offers raw beauty, untouched landscapes, and a serene atmosphere that feels refreshing from the very first glance. Surrounded by thick deodar and pine forests, with the Uhl River flowing gracefully through it, Barot is perfect for those who want to escape the chaos of city life.
The valley is popular for trout fishing, trekking, camping, and simply enjoying the calm of the mountains. Treks like Barot to Bada Bhangal and Barot to Kullu are quite adventurous for trekking enthusiasts. The hydel project built by the British adds a historical charm, while small villages nearby give you a glimpse into the simple and warm Himachali lifestyle.
Barot is not commercialized, which makes it even more special. You won't find big hotels or fancy cafes here, but homestays and local eateries serve delicious Himachali food with genuine hospitality. The weather remains pleasant in summers, and winters turn the valley into a snowy wonderland, ideal for photography and solitude seekers.
Overall, Barot Valley is a paradise for offbeat travelers. If you're looking for peace, pristine natural beauty, and a break from touristy crowds, Barot will not disappoint. However, those expecting luxury amenities may find it basic.
Went there for the famous reservoir waterslide but ended up in love with serenity of the valley.
An early morning walk is must here.
But do come prepared if coming by two-wheeler because the closest fuel pump is 40km away in Joginder Nagar and the rental scooties are fuel guzzler. Otherwise petrol is available at some shops at a premium of approx Rs.30
Nice place but try to visit in monsoons seasons but when the weather is clear
It's an okay okay place. Nothing much to see especially for people from the hills. People from plain areas may still find it interesting. Nothing much to do except eat some trout fish
