Post Office Anjuna

No one was interested in assisting me. After being ignored for quite a while, by two people who were doing one person's job, I was told they could not help me as my parcel was not boxed. Incompetent, to say the least.

In recent years, the post office has gotten from bad to worse. The staff are good but the main guy have changed so many times, and all of them useless. Pathetic experience! Better to go to mapusa post office.

I think this post office deserves more than 3 stars, so long as you go early in the morning and allow yourself enough time for packaging next door and filling in the paper work. Yes it is slow, but I've never had a quick visit to any post office. The staff were very kind and helpful to me, as were the staff at the packaging place next door. I sent a big parcel around 5kg for PS40 to England and it arrived safely. Tracking on India post is also easy to navigate and updated regularly. I was very sceptical at first, but had an all round positive experience, thank you!

The staff are nice and helpful and speak good English, however, the working hours to send anything are ridiculously short. They only take mail from 9:30am to 1:30pm on Monday to Friday, and 9:30am to 12pm on Saturday. (The hours given by Google Maps are incorrect.) And for payment, they only take cash. No card or UPI. It's fascinating how the government's "Digital India" initiative has been implemented almost everywhere in India's economy except the government's own post offices Note: To send a parcel, the box needs to be fully wrapped in brown masking tape. Then write/paste the "To" address above the "From" address (in some places like Canada, you might be used to doing it the opposite way). And if it's an international parcel, you'll also need 1) two signed photocopies of your ID, 2) two copies of the CN 23 form (which you can find online). Update: they now have a service for international shipments where they come to pickup your parcel at more convenient hours. See attached photo for details. But I haven't had the chance to try it yet so can't say how good or bad it is.

The office is hard to locate there is no signage. At first I thought that the post office is permanently closed and a cafe had come up at its place. But the post office IS BEHIND THE CAFE. You don't get envelopes for normal posts, neither do you get boxes for a parcel. Luckily, i had envelopes and box for my posts and parcel. The process was smooth, Maybe because I had gone in the morning at 10. The people were helpful. They have lunch at 2pm so avoid going around that time.

online it says this place is open until 5pm, however on arrival at 4 o'clock they say they are only open until 2pm, even thought the door is open, lights are on, 4 staff still there. absolutely ridiculous, they are literally sat there and won't take the parcel- just go to mapusa instead, don't bother here

They watched me struggle to find a box and finally tape up my package (the shop is ridiculous and staff are rude) for nearly an hour before telling me I have to go to a tailor to have my package stitched around, the nearest one being a 20 minute walk away. The man who used to do it there resigned apparently. Then they said they close at 1pm! So couldn't post my package which was now box shaped and hard to carry.
